The Brattleboro contra dance is a twice-monthly dance event featuring live music, excellent calling, and a lively group of friendly dancers. We feature talented performers from Brattleboro and the surrounding areas, where we are fortunate to live amongst some of the best dance musicians and callers in the country.
We welcome new and experienced dancers, young and old. No experience is necessary, all dances are taught and called, and you don’t need to come with a partner. See you on the dance floor!
Time and Place
Our new venue is 118 Elliot Street. It features a lovely wooden dance floor and excellent acoustics in a convenient location. We hope you find it to your liking.
Dances are usually held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm (see our calendar page for the details). If you’re new to contra dancing, try to arrive a little early for an intro lesson.
Admission is $10-$12 for adults, $8 for college students, $5 for youth.
Keep in Mind
Our dance is fragrance-free. To protect our new wood floor, please carry in a pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing, and change into them before entering the dance space. Thanks!
